The Solution
GLORE is a full-stack mineral trading and investment platform that bridges Africa's mining sector with global buyers, investors, and manufacturers. We built the frontend in React with TypeScript, a Node.js backend on Express, a PostgreSQL database via Supabase, and real-time price updates powered by Socket.io.

The Problem
The core challenge was building a live commodity pricing system with forex-style interactive charts that dynamically calculated Y-axis values based on actual metal prices, while keeping performance snappy. The platform also needed a lead magnet system that delivered investor deck PDFs via email and a real-time orders table that updated without a page refresh.
How We Solved It
We used Socket.io for WebSocket communication so price updates and order book changes pushed instantly to all connected clients. Recharts handled area charts with custom hover tooltips, upward and downward trend indicators, and time period filters from 1D to 5Y. Nodemailer handled the investor deck email delivery. The database ran on Prisma ORM with Supabase connection pooling via pgbouncer for performance.
The Outcome
GLORE launched to production at version 1.1.0 with both the frontend at gloreenergy.com and the API at api.gloreenergy.com running smoothly. The platform serves over 20 commodity types with live market data and interactive charts, and delivers investor decks on demand, positioning GLORE as a credible, technology-first player in Africa's mineral trading space.
